The Two Ronnie’s Spoof Hovis Advert The   memorable   1973   Hovis   advert   made   such   an   impression   on   the   British   public that five years later, it was recreated by  British comedy legends ‘The Two Ronnies’. Their   spoof   advert   sees   not   a   boy   on   a   bike   this   time,   but   an   old   man   (Ronnie   Barker) walking up Gold Hill carrying a loaf of bread. 18   years   after   the   last   episode   of   The   Two   Ronnies   was   shown,   the   comedy   duo returned     to     television     in     2004     with     their     nostaglic     show     ‘The     Two     Ronnies Sketchbook’.   The   show   aired   on   BBC1   and   included   some   of   their   classic   and   most memorable sketches - their spoof Hovis advert being one of them. Ronnie    Corbett    fondly    recalled    after    the    sketch    was    shown    that    ‘We    spent    a wonderful two days in Dorset filming that’ although he himself did not feature in it.
